Cladding & Weatherboard Replacement SE Melbourne

Weatherboards cop a lot down here, especially close to the bay. Salt air, sun and rain all take their toll, and once water gets behind a split or rotten board it doesn't take long to spread. I'm Mark from Kaymar Construction, a local carpenter, and I replace cladding and weatherboards across Frankston and SE Melbourne.

I work with James Hardie Linea weatherboards, a fibre cement board with a deep, clean shadow line that looks like timber but won't rot. I also replace and patch traditional timber weatherboards, so a repair blends in with what's already on the house.

Every job starts with finding out how far the damage goes. I take off the bad boards, check the frame and wall wrap behind, replace any rotted studs or noggins, and then re-clad. Sometimes that's a few boards around a window. Sometimes it's a full re-clad.

While the wall is open it's also a good time to fix other problems. If a window leaks or the flashings have rusted out, I can sort those at the same time. You get a clear written quote before anything starts, and I clean up properly at the end of every day.

One recent job was a Chelsea beach box. The old box was faded and worn out, so it was re-clad all the way around in 16mm Hardie Linea, with new plinth boards and eave sheets, handmade hardwood doors and a new Ekodeck composite floor.

I cover Frankston, Langwarrin, Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha, Seaford, Carrum Downs and Chelsea, plus Berwick, Cranbourne and Narre Warren.
